I think the 5C, with all it's colors, looks more snazy, but over all, the 5S is a better investment, even though it is more expensive. You'll be getting newer hardware with the 5S than you would with the 5C. Besides, if you want colors, you can get a colorful case, like the OtterBox Defender. Good, solid protection and cool colors all in one. They're usually cheaper if you buy them on Amazon.
