Hi Eric,
The best thing I can come up with is this: if you have a friend who is sighted
and with whom you have a good enough raport so that they will understand your
requirements, you could get them to look at Google Earth. With Google Earth you
have what is almost a video view of streets shops buildings etc. It would be
possible for them to describe to you the exact positions of doorways and bus
stops. They should be able to describe what type of bus stop etc. Indeed,
here's a suggestion for all of us, perhaps each local blindness Association
could provide some similar sort of service? With someone who would be prepared
to take a look at Google Earth and who would be able to give the right sort of
information. Plus, there are some smart glasses being developed which should
have built-in software that can recognise key elements such as bus stops doors
crossings. But I don't think they're available yet. Perhaps, Google Glass will
come up trumps?

Just my thoughts,
Sandy
