Hi Christina,

I posted about this yesterday and once again, I don't quite know if this
hissing speaker means also the microphone is active, somehow I don't see the
relationship here. I can reproduce this hiss, but I don't find it makes a
significant difference in battery drain on my 5S.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Re: iOS7.1.2 did NOT fix the dictation bug

What a bummer that they did not fix this bug. If i accidentally forget to
ask siri for the current temperature after using dictation from an edit
field my battery drains very very quickly. I understand that someone here
explained how to tell if the bug is present is by noticing the volume change
after using Siri but this does not always work for me. The best way for me
to tell is after dictating into an edit field I wait a couple of minutes and
then I put the speaker on the bottom of my iPhone up to my ear and I can
hear the speaker hissing. Maybe my bug is different? I do not know or
understand why the speaker is hissing but that seems to drain my battery. I
could be totally wrong because I am just making a guess based on my
observations and experiences. :)

Christina
