Hello,
Here's how I do it.
I use a 2 finger double tap to start a recording and a 2 finger double tap to 
pause/stop a recording. In other words, after I pause or stop at least once, if 
that's to be the end of the recording, I swipe to done and activate it, then 
follow the steps to save.

It works each and every time.
