Hi Christopher, Well said and one could also make the point that if a blind specific app has extra features which the main stream app does not have that maybe the developer of the main stream app might be encouraged to add similar features if his/her app already had most of what the blind person needed.
In any case, in our economy anybody can produce a product or service and market/sell it and while mainstream accessibility is awesome, there is and probably always will be a place for special companies. I don't see any dog training schools which train guard dogs put out guide dogs and I don't see companies like Leki or Komperdell which make walking, trekking or Nordic walking poles product white canes. I'm not sure I'd be employed now without JAWS and the ability to use the applications my colleagues use to do their jobs.
