On my iPad Air, I can view a list of email on the left side of the split
screen and a summary about 5 lines of text on the right side. This makes it
much faster to deal with a lot of messages quickly.
When you take an iPad in my case it's the iPad Air, and mate it with a
keyboard case, now you have a laptop. With my case, when I don't require
the QWERTY keyboard but I do want to play games, I can lift the screen up
and lay it on it's back with the back resting on the typing keys making a
solid stable platform. Yes you can buy an external keyboard. I have an
Amazon Basics Bluetooth wireless keyboard that I bought about a year ago.
When I got the keyboard case for my iPad, the Amazon basics Bluetooth
wireless keyboard got shoved in my backpack where it stays. When taking my
iPad Air, I just toss the Amazon keyboard aside in favor of my iPad air.

Alan

Hi Teresa and other iPad owners,
Since I'm having a problem understanding, will you please give me an example
as to how a bigger screen will help with scrolling? To be specific, please
give an example of a screen such as the Settings or General screen where a
larger screen will make navigation easier.
thank you
Joseph

I'm seriously thinking of getting an iPad. I'm looking forward to utilizing
a larger screen that will display more information without having to scroll
as much. In my mind, it's similar to having greater screen resolution with a
screen-reader. There's more information available on a single screen at any
given time. However, I'm going to compromise and get a Mini with retina
display, which has the same processor as the iPad Air, but has a more
manageable screen size for me and costs $100 less. I don't see paying $100
US more just for more screen.

I also want to point out that there apps strictly for the iPad. Yes most
apps that one can use on an iPhone/iPod can be used on an iPad. But these
apps don't always display properly.
I have found apps that I use on my iPhone to work more efficiently on the
iPad. One very good example of this is OCR apps.
Just something to consider.

Hello all,
I've owned an iPad 2, 4, and now an Air. I'm also an iPhone user, am
totally blind, and the pad is my go-to device more often than not for my
daily communication/web browsing needs. I appreciate the iPad both for
the visually accurate representation of webpages, and for its larger
screen, requiring me to scroll less in areas such as settings. Maps is
another area wherein the larger screen is helpful for better visualizing
my surroundings, planning routes, etc. Granted, the larger screen isn't
going to be for everyone, but it is far from an impossibility. :)

Hmm,

more difficult to use?
Thanks.

And iPad isn't really beneficial for totally blind person that uses

screen makes things difficult.

Hi,
The sad truth is that I hardly use my iPad at all. NB: this won't
change when the next iPad is announced unless they shrink it down to
the size of an iPhone which isn't going to happen for reasons that are
hopefully obvious.
I find browsing the internet to be more pleasurable on an iPad than it
is on an iPhone as I'm into feeling the layout of pages, but I still
use a computer for this sort of thing by default. Every now and again
I'll be out and about for a few days & I'll be without a laptop which
would be a good oppertunity for my iPad to shine, but I tend to take a
bluetooth keyboard with me for these trips anyway, so the touch screen
doesn't get that much use.
I've purchased two iPads so far with the intent of finding a use for
them, but for me at least, there isn't really a space in my life for a
device that isn't a phone or a PC.
Cheers,
Ben.
