Yes if you've included containers in the rotor.

Containers are areas of the screen that contain groups of controls. For
example, your status bar is in one container, and below it is another container
with the text of a document. Below that is the dock in its own container. On
the iPad, you have to interact with containers, similar to "zooming in" as a
concept. The Mac Os uses very similar concepts with Voiceover.

I hope i am familiar with containers, but i don't think the problem i had
was with them. As soon as you go over a container border there's a special
beep, for example when you go to the virtual keyboard there's that beep. No the
problem i had was in swiping, i got forced back to where i left off and
sometimes the ipad or rather voiceover on it would do other commands like
reading a character when in character mode and so on. I kept going down or up
as i went sideways.

Are you sure your problem is swiping, or is it perhaps that containers are

confusing you? There are gestures for moving focus to containers, or you
can

also move focus by touching on the left or right part of the screen. Are
you

      familiar with containers?

Hi, But how about my question on navigating? Is the Mini easier to
navigate

on than the Air or the other bigger pads? The problem i had was that i

couldn't swipe because i didn't manage to swipe in a streight line so
other

commands got issued instead. Anyone think this sounds familiar?

        Hi Feliciano,

I understand why you might say that but I respectfully disagree. I am

completely blind and I have both a iPhone and a iPad. There are

      definitely

situations where the ability to display more information on the screen
at

one time is beneficial, even for a Voice Over user. I especially find

      this

to be true in the reading apps, like iBooks, Kindle, and Voice Dream. I

also like being able to fit longer lines and more lines on the screen
when

working in notes or a text editor. A iPad certainly isn't for everyone

      but

it isn't quite as simple as saying "a iPad isn't beneficial for a

      completely

        blind person using Voice Over".

        Thanks,

        Scott Duck

And iPad isn't really beneficial for totally blind person that uses

voiceover. Especially if that individual has an iPhone. The larger
screen

      on

an iPad just makes things more complicated than using an iPhone or
iTouch.

Clients always ask me this question. I always tell them an iPhone is the

      way

to go if you are totally blind as the larger screen makes things

      difficult.

          Hi,

The sad truth is that I hardly use my iPad at all. NB: this won't

change when the next iPad is announced unless they shrink it down to

the size of an iPhone which isn't going to happen for reasons that are

          hopefully obvious.

I find browsing the internet to be more pleasurable on an iPad than it

is on an iPhone as I'm into feeling the layout of pages, but I still

use a computer for this sort of thing by default. Every now and again

I'll be out and about for a few days & I'll be without a laptop which

would be a good oppertunity for my iPad to shine, but I tend to take a

bluetooth keyboard with me for these trips anyway, so the touch screen

          doesn't get that much use.

I've purchased two iPads so far with the intent of finding a use for

them, but for me at least, there isn't really a space in my life for a

device that isn't a phone or a PC.

          Cheers,

          Ben.
