Amen! There is a huge difference between a few bugs, such as saying "screen
locked" twice and having the system be so buggy that many people are not able
to use it effectively. I really respect Neal and Sieghaird for pointing out
these things. And I am really sick and tired of the folks who seem to think
that it is okay for us to automatically expect to wait for several months
before the major bugs are ironed out. Yes, we are a small market. But if
somebody is going to cheer themselves on and say how great they are for
accessibility, the bar needs to be a little higher than it apparently is for
this realse.
Apple is not your garden-variety developer. They are one of the richest
corporations in the world. And they brag about how cool they are with their
products for people with disabilities. You can't have it both ways. If you are
a true leader, you lead by example, and that does not include leaving a bunch
of bugs that have been reported and not acted on, which affect the use of the
system in major ways.
