Well each to their own and if formatting doesn't apply to you then you should be fine. If it does then yes you should be concerned.

And you can only move by characters, words or headings. Not lines. I
agree totally that we'll never get the same experience as sighted
users, my co-workers love their Word for Ipad. But having full
navigation and access to the results of formatting would make a
difference at least. I would just be very caucious to describe it as
accessible. It may be all we can get given the OS etc. but I just
wouldn't describe it as accessible.

The problem might be one of users asking too much of the form factor. Small

apps such as what Microsoft is offering on the iPhone and such are not meant

to be full Microsoft Office replacements no matter how hard blind people try

to make them behave in this manner. these small apps might result in a more

productive experience for the sighted user, but this is because the iPhone
and such devices are designed for the sighted world, so when you read about

these apps anywhere other than these blind-centric lists, the apps boast
lots because sighted people can for the most part be much more productive
not having to swipe their fingers to the bone trying to find each icon or
control on the screen--they just scan the screen with their eyes and tap.

What do you feel can be done to improve the current accessibility or ease of

use?

Well it doesn't look like accessibility has improved at all. Almost
impossible to edit a document even with a keyboard. Nice that you can
do basic editing without subscribing but I don't really think it's
very useable yet frankly. Still pretty disappointing sadly.

To run:
Microsoft Word on the App Store on iTunes

You will need a Microsoft related account such as an email address which
ends with @live.com or @outlook.com

You will be installing the full app on your iOS device which means you
will
not need to visit a website or Wi-Fi to use these apps.

When installing the app you will begin with a brief demo.

You will be asked to enter your email address then your password.

Your app will now be setup.

You can purchase a subscription but it is not necessary as you can go
into
the menus and import from OneDrive via Wi-Fi etc.

You will only get basic features with the free apps, but this might be
enough for those on the go who aren't looking to torture themselves by
trying to author their book using this type of device.

The apps are not completely accessible as there is no way to return the
app
to it's normal view once one modifies the app to show in the full view.

If one is really interested in this type of access, please go through
the
process of installing before asking questions as this will focus your
questions and eliminate easy questions which result in many, many
unnecessary replies. (Using nice tone).
