It appears as though some work has been done to prevent the screen from auto-locking while VoiceOver is speaking. 7. VoiceOver appears to perform better when navigating the "Details" screen of message threads that contain attachments. It looks like among other things, 8.1.1 should run better on the 4S and the older iPads.
