I have had a problem with the shift key not responding to a doubletap. What
worked for me and which surprised me, btw, was that changing the rate of the
doubletap made a difference in how the shift key worked. I had to slow down
my usual speed. What I usually did worked for my 7.12 iPhone but not with
this different 8.1.1 iPhone 5. Just a thought.

Nope I cannot clear the notifications in my notification center since
updating to iOS 8.1.1 I used to be able in iOS 7.1.2. In order to do it I
must turn off VO & use my residual vision to accomplish this.
Yes I've rebooted the phone several times and also done a hard reset. Any
other suggestions?
