Hello, good news, but still some work to do...
The Perl Kit for the current freeware CD has been submitted to Hoff. This does contain a copy of 5.8.1 RC4, the module list discussed earlier, plus DBI and Chart::Plot. Yes, I do have read the messages about further desierable modules. I do agree that a number of them look extremely interesting and they are all on my list of things to do, but I simply did not manage to put them in for this release. I do apologize for this. On a good note, the next CD is most probably due already in about a years time (around the VMS 8.2 Itanium timeframe) and I am optimistic to have a much improved module list by then. One problem that did cost me quite a bit time is still in the build of Perl 5.8.1 RC4. I wanted to reuse some code from Craig (with his permission) to define a concealed logical for the Perl source tree to ease potential problems with directory depths. Unfortunatly once this is done the compilation of Perl fail in the Cwd module. I am not sure if one of the later snapshots fixes this.
