Brian, thanks.

I'm using TightVNC 1.2.6, and have the registry path & key value set
correctly.

Do I need a more up-to-date version? Given that I was told this information
when I downloaded TightVNC back in September last year, I would have thought
it accurate & that it should still work now.

Someone please help me before I tear all my hair out in frustration!

Su Warren

Su Warren,

"DisableTrayIcon" works with TridiaVNC, TridiaVNC Pro and TightVNC. If
I recall correctly, it is not supported by RealVNC. You will need to
get the registry branch (path) right as well.

HKLM\Software\Tridia\TridiaVNC\WinVNC3
DisableTrayIcon (DWORD)
http://www.tridiavncpro.com/

HKLM\Software\ORL\WinVNC3
DisableTrayIcon (DWORD)
http://www.tightvnc.com/

"1" *is* the correct value to prevent the appearance of the tray icon,
however, you have to have a build/distribution that supports that
option.

De nada y hasta la vista,

Brian
