i am trying to use my win2k notebook running realvnc4 (viewer and server) to connect to linux fedora core 2 box running realvnc4

No problem using "remote desktop connection" on the linux box to connect and control the notebook

Can't get the notebook viewer to connect to the Linux box.

case 1 - Using the realvnc that was installed with the fedora core dated 4/14/04
case 2 - using the real vnc downloaded from the website dated 6/14/04

Same results in both cases
usr/bin/vncserver :1

result in:

New 'localhost.localdomain:1 (root)' desktop is localhost.localdomain:1

Starting applications specified in /root/.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /root/.vnc/localhost.localdomain:1.log

tried connect ing to server on linux box from the win2k viewer app but no success
tried connecting to server on the linux box from the "remote desktop connection" on the linux box but no success. error message says "connection failed No server running at the given address and port"

I am using the address of the linux box plus the following port numbers 5900, 5901, 5800, 5801 ala 192.168.0.155:5900 but no avail. no connection to the server

The same thing occured in case 2 when I tried using the version downloaded from the website:
usr/local/bin/vncserver :1

any help appreciated
