Acctually think about it the other way Miriam. Avatars are "just
another" shared object.

You don't :\ What I mean is that You don't normally send events to a
shared object (at least not from a chat-window). A SO workes more or
less exactly like any interactive (or un-interactive if you want?)
object in the world with the difference that the ROUTEs are networked.
