in an effort to better understand "the Big Picture"
in an effort to be able to conceptualize the current release state of VNet
I have run the source code through JVision (a UML tool)
and posted the resulting diagram and JavaDocs at:

the next step after "grokking" it a bit better
is to construct a diagram
of what the next VNet version might look like
