hi, I have a crude shopping mall which I have divided into aisles. I'm trying to track the user's movements by placing proximity detectors in each of the aisles. Then the client sends a message back to a user profile server which is independent of the vnet server. Basically, it all works until the client connects to the vnet server, and is placed at the Vnet_Start viewpoint in the world. After that, the EAI Callback doesn't receive the data from the Proximity Detectors anymore. I hadn't thought of having the vnet server do the tracking though, but I'd like to keep the two servers separate if possible. regards, Gerard O' Sullivan Jeff Sonstein wrote: > > > I've been trying to get proximity sensors to work > > what exactly are you trying to capture? > > each move is sent back to the VNet server > [to be retransmitted to all other users] > so if you are trying to capture > a record of Transform changes > you *could* have the server itself > feed the data to the DB > > or maybe I'm not understanding > what you are trying to accomplish... > > jeffs > > -- > Jeff Sonstein http://ariadne.iz.net/ > http://www.it.rit.edu/~jxs/ > http://ariadne.iz.net/~jeffs/jeffs.asc > ============================================== > there are no bugs > there are just undocumented features
