Hi again, I appear to have made some minor progress in viewing a VNet world under Linux. I removed everything from my CLASSPATH except for the FreeWRL (my VRML browser) java classes. Now, the VNet Java applet no longer bombs, BUT it freezes at the stage "locating VRML browser..." It just prints this message in the status line and hangs. As far as I know FreeWRL is one of the most EAI-compliant VRML browsers for Linux (its focus is on EAI rather than high visual quality), so it should be able to deal with VNet, but I just can't get it to work. What exactly is happening when the applet displays the message "locating VRML browser"? Any tips on configuration settings or environment variables I need to check? Thanks, Norman [EMAIL PROTECTED]
