ack! Since that ship has sailed, from now on .. always log. You
cannot research anything if you have nothing to look at. At the end
of every month take your logfiles and zip them up (after all they are
only text files) so you can archive them.

Sh> How to I deal with this? I want to block this kind of behaviour
Sh> from the source.

First contact the crybaby admin who is blocking you and tell him that
the problem has been fixed. That way you can get traffic restored.
And since you have enabled logging now, right? You can match up any
future complaints with a date/time stamp. I dont know what an SMTP
auth log looks like .. but I would think it would have the
[EMAIL PROTECTED] listed then you could see the bogus from header.

Guys .. am I correct?

This is why I think RBL technology is out dated as a primary means of
preventing UE. Shouldn't the enduser dictate what is acceptable and
what is not? Shouldn't the enduser's admin be the one responsible for
enforcing said wishes with his own defensive devices?

I think so. All my customers pay to get email, and they all know to
fwd unwanted email to me to be added to the incoming filter. It's
that simple.

But noooo, every once in while I have go on a witch hunt to prosecute
a criminal spammer because some twrip who really should be flipping
burgers got some unwanted email. I am always touched at the
unbearable atrocities that this poor person needlessly was put
through. Just think of it <gasp> unwanted email. Oh the humanity of
it all .. sheeesh, my time is much better spend water-skiing on a lake.

99% of all UE is either porn or get-rich-quick. Filter based upon a
set of keywords and you've got most of it.
