to New Orleans:

   - 10 of the world's most experienced Earthship builders travel to New
   Orleans
   - Complete the building in six weeks with 20 local interns
   - Locals learn hands-on, how to continue to build earthships in New
   Orleans

New Orleans demonstration
"don't just GIVE the people a fish, TEACH the people how to fish"

   - Local interns learn how to build earthships for New Orleans
   - Local building officials, health official, politicians, residents,
school children, contractors, plumbers, electricians, etc. will tour the
   finished building
   - They will attend lectures, presentations, watch videos, purchase
   educational material, etc.

This transfer of knowledge will influence the ongoing rebuilding effort in a
more sustainable, logical and practical way. It will help the city of New
Orleans be better equipped and prepared to deal with the next massive
hurricane.

the bottom line
environmentally responsible and economically viable

   - The full project, including staging, travel, crew, accommodations,
and construction expenses will cost approximately $280k.
   - Funding will come from donations, sponsors and general fundraising
with the balance coming from Earthship Biotecture.
   - During the 18 months of operation as a learning center / demo home,
this $280k will be fully recovered - at which point the Earthship will be
given away to a local New Orleans family in need.

i see a lot of your movie celebrities are chucking 1,000,000$ to africa to
feed the poor and thats all very well and good but 280,000$ is like nothing
whatsoever, come on, if you were to ask for volunteers to learn earthship
building and then have them learn it, fly all over the planet building them
for free, you'd have a lot of people doing some actual work instead of
sitting around playing unreal tournament or being afraid they're gonna be
drafted to the next war which they all are more or less aware is coming or
isnt depending on who you talk to.

i dont know, it would've been interesting to see what i could've financed
if i could've just won 3,54million euro in the finnish lottery. i had a
plan to donate some to earthship tech, some to getting the buckminster
fuller dymaxion archive completely digitized and posted online, and the
rest to russell,schauberger,moray,leedskalnin,keely tech research,
development and financing an earthship demonstration in finland. but it
appears you dont win the lottery if you want to actually do something with
themoney, for the largest amount of people possible.
there's even documentary directors who are looking for 200,000$ financing to
do a video on water based research, a proper documentary. phew.

so many solutions, but everyones looking at the problems. way to go :(

but its changing :)
