Nice. You could do both. If the structure is like a Fresnel lens, it could have a south-facing slope and still a low profile, i.e., it consists of a series of narrow panels at the right slope for maximum power, but only extending up as much as required by the width of the panel, the narrower the panel, the less the upward extent.
