Tritium is made by gas discharge and gas loading where no lithium or Na is present. The rate is sensitive to the H/D ratio and to the concentration of hydrogen isotope in the material.

Also, just to make sure I understand your position -- you're understanding is that the lithium in the electrolyte is a secondary detail, and that, barring some unforeseen effect, NaOD and NaOH would have led to the same yield of tritium?
