Interestingly, bitcoin does not appear to be untraceable.  Since every
transaction is recorded in a common ledger, it is possible to trace back
transactions and piece together and infer who carried them out and who paid
what to whom.  Law enforcement looking at the online drug markets have
called bitcoin transactions "prosecution futures", in the sense of futures
markets [1].
