No way to get *all* objects on a site? (Might be useful, not for remote access but when working with COD files, say)
I think I'm beginning to understand the whole "parametrized views" thing, and I'm fairly certain it's similar to what I meant when I originally coined the term 'overlay'. So, hows about you can get *all* objects on a site, only if you have the permissions to enter "Editor's View" (because such a View Query would take a ton of bandwidth)? Normal "User's View" would send you all the objects in your immediate vicinity, and all the objects of a certain distance in your field of view, but "Editor's View" would start downloading the objects in a different fashion. Perhaps, largest first, and sort down to smallest (since world editors, I would think, would typically start with a 'far-out' viewpoint), and most recent revision first... Or perhaps they would just receive the data as it is sorted on the server; file by file. Sure, certain sites may be 'opensourced', giving every user permissions for editor's view, but I'm sure some worlds would desire to stay restricted, so as to prevent the downloading of their proprietary 3d data. -Steve
