Actually this gave me an idea.
I deleted my V prefs file to try setting it up from scratch again and with
this I could add one or two buttons before it crashed. It seemed that it
would not allow anymore buttons than the width of my screen before it
crashed. Looking at the settings in the fastlink settings there's a button
"Allows label stripping" I turned this option on and I can now add as many
buttons as I want. Not exactly what I'd like but it does seem to work OK. I
now have four rows of buttons.

Try it with the "Allows label stripping" and see what happens?
