Hi! I hate you!!! ;) The thing about modem speed, is how far you are from
the switch. Sounds like you are right next door to one!! Lucky Devil! I am 7
miles from the closest switch at my house, and can BARELY manage 31.6 at odd
times. 28.8 and 26.4 are more common for me, even with a USR or SUPRA 56K v.90
modems on both AMIGA and clone. Until Ma Bell gets all the copper out and
fiber optic in, those of us a ways from the switch and not willing to shell
out the bucks for ASDL, ISDN, Dish-reciever, T-1 line installed, or cable TV
to get their INET system up and running will just have to suffer I guess. BTW
I took my modems to a friends house who IS right next door to a switch, and he
gets your kind of speed. So, have Ma Bell condition your line in the states,
and hope the wait for fiber is not long. Also, running V-NG sucks the
electrons out of the line faster than the clones (special code!), so an AMIGAs
speed WILL be better anyway! ;)))))))))))
