Actually it makes very little difference once you are over about 46000 in
actual use.

As you already get 5000+ bps it won't speed up binary transfers but it
should speed up text, i.e. news, html. The compression on text bumps up
the transfer rate to more than any native serial port can handle, it
depends on what you mainly download whether it is worth it.
