You can zoom with the context menu.

Copy your Apdf.config file to plugins/data/Vpdf.config, then edit the
prefs
so that 'module dirs'=the apdf directory, 'font dirs'=the directory
containing
your fonts, and the 'initial zoom'='fit page'.
Of course, using the installer in the first place would have saved you
lots
of troubles (except the 'fit page' thing, which is a bug).

Do you mean that if you change a setting in the prefs window and quit V,
the change is lost ?
