There are several things you can do to get a better result. First you
should switch to a better connection like DSL if available in your area.
If you're bored of the graphics building up too slow you can switch them
off or use a text only browser like lynx. Unfortunately ourdays a lot of
sites are "optimized" for Netscape or Internet Explorer - A nice way to
say "hey, we're too damn stupid to program clean HTML code so we just made
this site by trial and error and it works out of pure coincidence with the
mentioned programs.". My site works with and without frames, the pictures
have alt tags to give an idea what they show and everything works with and
without JavaScript, not to mention it's Bobby approved and thus even
readable by blinds.

IMHO the rendering of a page before its contents have been completely read
is an important feature of web browsers which should stay that way.
