I also try to avoid CSS on my homepage as I use Voyager but even I have
come to the point that I can't get certain effects without it.
On the other hand the code gets a lot smaller by the use of CSS. According
to HTMLTidy the use of CSS is highly recommended and according to SelfHTML
at least CSS1 can be expected from a browser today.
You might also be not aware of certain problems which could arise of not
using CSS. We have to use a Lotus Notes 4.6 implementation at work which
has problems with pages over 64k (AFAIR). Even with CSS these database
generated pages are damn big. As the user can import texts with cut&past
into the database the text style is also remebered. Without CSS the
website would look weird if someone pasted a text with a fancy but
uncommon truetype font.
I hope for a decent CSS1 implementation in Voyager.
