That's not the way the site was designed, though, it's suposed to redirect
to a secure server with certain options. Maintaining a static link to enable
that for older browsers is probably not an option.
Please, have faith in at least some web designers, and try and respect
that they have a design brief to work to.

In this case, Javascript is more flexible than any server side solution,
and must be used because it's trying to work out exactly what has
been passed to the URL in terms of arguments, and manipulate them.
Once sent to the server, that URL may not be what it was at the browser.
