Hi, We are currently working on a setup involving SPDK NVMe-oF TCP on a DPU, and we are exploring integration with VPP Host Stack on both the target and initiator sides.
We have a few questions and would appreciate any guidance: Did you integrate VPP/VCL directly into SPDK’s socket layer (e.g., via a custom socket implementation), or did you use LD_PRELOAD with libvcl? If LD_PRELOAD was used, how did you handle SPDK’s RPC/control plane (UNIX sockets), which seem to have issues under VCL? Were any modifications required in SPDK (such as changes in sock_posix or event handling) to ensure compatibility with VPP? Are you using VPP on both the target (nvmf_tgt) and the initiator (spdk_nvme_perf)? Additionally, it would be very helpful if you could share any configuration steps or setup details for integrating SPDK with VPP HostStack. Any guidance, patches, or configuration steps details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and support. Regards, Feroz
