I noted this with interest a while back. I guess an important question is
what is the adoption of Tk8.x by vtcl users? I would like to begin adding
explicit support for the new Tk8.x features, but I would also like to
take advantage of them inside vtcl. This implies some incompatability
with Tcl7.6/Tk4.2 which many are still using (and I'm not keen on
dropping).
