Was the problem eventually fixed with Andrew's solution? I have a machine
that is showing similar symptoms, except the first error is:

"Your computer name could not be registered on the Appletalk network"

Then the finder quits.

The Mac in question is a Tang 400 DV with 128Meg and 10gig HD, running 9.1.
The other mac on the network is a Snow 600 with 256meg running 9.2.2. Up
until yesterday both iMacs were happily chatting to each other!

Kindest regards

Rod!
