I have good or bad news depending on your disposition.
My PC can now see through to my Mac the way it is supposed to, without
asking for authentication.
I achieved this by reinstalling OSX.
All symptoms seemed to me to indicate OSX was at fault but there was no
way to fix it that I could see.
Short of reinstall that is.
I hope you aren't dissapointed.
I'm just happy the world's best desktop OS is working again.
