The web address I gave for the download for Ragtime Solo works. I
assumed your friend still wanted to work on a PC so I have pointed
you to a PC version that works on Microsoft Systems up to and
including XP. I haven't tried it on Vista.

Ragtime Solo 5.6 is a DTP application for Mac or Windows. The Solo
version is freeware and the Windows version can be down loaded from
http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page24.html.
I use is for brochures, booklets etc. Accepts photos and graphics
- preferably as jpg.
Excellent for a free application.

YES ! But Solo only runs Panther but not on Tiger , and is no
longer available , unless you find somebody keeping an installer .
Ragtime is the continuing DTP app
<http://www.ragtime-online.com/>
and that is not free !

Hi all,
A friend of mine is writing a technical medical book with lots of
graphics etc. using word on a windows machine, how wrong can you
get? When I last did a project like that I used PageMaker which
no longer exists. Can anyone please advise me of a suitable
alternative software and any info on publishing would be
appreciated.
Regards,
Adrian
