Hi Adrian,

Ah yes, I've used both Pagemaker and InDesign in the past. As with any app. familiarity and ease of use can, to a degree, make up for lack of functionality - both apps will produce good quality products - I found that the steeper learning curve for InDesign was worth it, in terms of extra features etc. Many Quark users moved over to Indesign. Yes, I'm still running a G5, occasionally in Classic mode that allows me to run Pagemaker. To be honest, I've also got Pagemaker 7 here for XP that I can run on a 'darkside' machine if needed for a quick project - it's still a great application.

As for the project, that sounds interesting! Your friend doesn't need a proof-reader with anatomical/medical experience does he/she?

:)

Regards

Phil

Hi all,

A friend of mine is writing a technical medical book with lots of graphics etc. using word on a windows machine, how wrong can you get? When I last did a project like that I used PageMaker which no longer exists. Can anyone please advise me of a suitable alternative software and any info on publishing would be appreciated.

Regards,

Adrian
