Thanks Ronni,
I have tried Version 3.3 and 4.1, I have done an Archive and
Install and ran TechTool Deluxe 3.1.2 but I cancelled the Surface
Scan because it was taking so long. I will run it again and see
if it comes up with anything.

I have been unhappy with the performance of my iMac G5 for a

halfway through the Step 5 of the Rebuild Directory sequence and

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be
and appropriate action I can take please.
Hello Adrian,
What Version of DiskWarrior are you using, are you using the
latest version for your OS? You don't say if you are using Leopard.
DW 4.1.1 is latest version.
It's possible that you have a bad spot (bad sector) on the hard
drive. DW only fixes the directory. It does not fix other disk-
related problems that may be repaired by Disk Utility or TechTool
Pro.
Have you checked the SMART status of your drive with DiskWarrior?
Cheers,
Ronni
