Thank you Reg, Daniel, Susan.
I checked all the buttons as directed.
When I next made contact my friend on the PC said his Skype had not recognised changes he had made until he shut it down and rebooted it. We are now in contact and also with one of my sons in Canberra. What a great device.
Thank you.
Merv

Perhaps also a video cam app such as PhotoBooth may have taken control of the camera. Check if you can disable the camera in that app.

Also Merv, make sure you don't have the video "muted". There's a button down
the bottom of the video window that from memory looks like a video camera
with a diagonal line through it. (Sorry not infront of my normal computer at
the moment, so working off memory). If that is "highlighted" or clicked, it
will "mute" your video picture so they can't see you.
(From memory).

Hope that helps.

Kind Regards
Daniel

Once you are connected and have your Skype window open, there are a
couple of little icons on the bottom, one of which is a little grey
video icon. You have to click on that to have video.

He and I can talk.
I can see him and a small window of myself. He can't see me.
In Skype preferences in Video I have camera set to Built in iSight,
Enable Skype Video is ticked, Start my video automatically is
ticked, Anyone who I allow to call me is selected, People in my
Contact list is selected.
Have I overlooked something?
