Hi Laura, I should have mentioned though that in all of my testing the external optical drives don't need to be Mac compatible. I purchased a cheap external USB DVD burner and it just works. Of course I can't guarantee that any drive will so you might want to buy locally, however the chances are pretty good that it will.
