Hi Ronni

I have two Epson inkjet printers (R230 and R2400) that at different times
required ink pad replacement and resetting.

Rather than do that, which is an inconvenience and an ongoing expense, I
re-routed the overflow ink tubes (1 on the R230, 2 on the R2400) out the back
of the printers and into containers I could seal. I used freely available reset
software (Windows only) to reset the overflow counter and now I don't ever have
to worry about ink pads again. I just empty the container when it gets too full
(hasn't happened yet) and reset the counter when it next reaches its limit.

It was a relatively simple process and although I did have to drill a small
hole in the printer for the tubing, it took only a short time to complete. What
I find puzzling is why this isn't built into each new printer.

Cheers

Mike Fuller
