Hi Merv 10.4 might not upgrade your 10.2 without going through 10.3 first. I'm not sure.
You could erase and install 10.4. This will mean, unless first copied elsewhere, any data will be erased too. Data such as documents, files, folders, non-Apple applications and their preferences. The Migration Assistant can be useful for this but I am unaware if it can do 10.2 -> 10.4 migrations. Someone else may be able to shed light here.
