Many thanks to one and all for the suggestions. Will take a decision over the
next couple of days to upgrade,

Hi David,

Just a thought but - if you are going to change your router, think about
whether you might want to change your phone to VOIP and, if so, whether you
want to look at a router that incorporates VOIP - Billion is one
manufacturer which offers this.

We did this several years ago with a Billion router and Internode's
NodePhone VOIP service and it was all pretty easy to set-up and works well -
and we too are in Albany and on ADSL1.

Now Georgie can call her mum in Perth as often as she feels like and natter
on for as long as she likes without running up a large Telstra bill ;o)

Severin,

I wouldn't hold my breath on getting NBN in Albany by 2014 -

So the EARLIEST start is currently DEC 2014 with the service being available
(on average) a year later. So even on their own projections we could expect
the NBN to be actually available in the Albany in the first half of 2016!

However, if you remember when they originally SAID we would get digital TV
- and then when they ACTUALLY turned it on - then it wouldn't be that
surprising if they don't actually meet their schedule ;o)

Time will tell!

Cheers
