Hi Ronni, It's bewildering. I have checked hidden photos in the VIEW. No, it's not that. I'll try to explain a bit more as I've tried all the recommended solutions, by you and the Apple Support Friends Terence and Eric.
When in iPhoto, I select a photo and click EDIT, the photo is invisible, but the thumbnail is visible in the strip below. What is visible is the request to ID the faces? Sometimes a FLAG appears as well. If I select EFFECTS, the thumbnails appear on the RHS, but the photo itself remains invisible. Before I updated to ML 10,8,4 I didn't have this problem. Also my iMac doesn't recognise inserted USB flash drives and SDHC Cards now, but that's another issue for another day. Thanks for trying to find a solution.
