Was watching Shakiest Gun in the West scene were Don Knotts put a block on his shoulder and challenged the bad guy to knock it off. Reminded me of the TAGS episode where this thug kid challenged Opie to do the same thing. Makes me wonder where that idea "The knocking the block off of someones shoulder challenge" came from . Who created it? When, etc ? Was it just a dramatic effect for the movies or was it really used by anyone outside the movies during a certain era? Couldnt imagine it being used today. People would rather shoot you first without challenging you to a fair fight. Any info will be appreciated.
