In IE (quirks & older) will give you a 3 column page with 10px of space on the outside and between the columns. On a compliant page you would get a scrollbar because your page would be 100% plus 34px because of the box model differences.
Does that make any sense or just further confuse you?
Makes great sense and confusion is now gone. I did read about the box models, but didn't go into it in detail, think I will go there and absorb more. Thanks much. Very clear now.
