And if you have downloaded the critical patches for Explorer/Outlook from Windows Update, which everyone REALLY should have, you now have an even better option, go to "Tools", "Options", find the "Read" tab and put a check in the box "Read all messages in plain text", now it's safe to turn the preview pane back on because it no longer shows the HTML code that can getcha, just the plain text message; and, frankly, you lose nothing by this option except no more web bugs, or "pretty" coloured backgrounds and "clever" fancy fonts in email messages. You still get to see any attached JPGs by the way. And it's much safer than having preview pane disabled, because you can't view an HTML format message even by accidentally opening it.
