I recently upgraded from W2000 to WXP Professional. I had a Creative Labs Web Cam working under W2000 but having tried to re-install under XP it has gone haywire. The software on disk that came with it (about nine months ago) has XP listed.

When I put the CD in the screen goes blank and PC freezes - didn't do that with W2k. I had camera working fine under W2000 using the CD installation routine. I've tried downloading the drivers again but that has made no difference.

The webcam software is not listed as installed on the Add/Remove Programs list but shows up when I use Windows Explorer to look for it. Clicking on the Application says "Not properly installed - Uninstall and Reinstall" (More or less).

How can I uninstall something that doesn't show in the programs list? Just delete it? - I know that has registry implications (which I'd prefer not to get involved with) but can't see any other option apart from the fact there is an uninstaller on the CD - what if I copy that across on it's own (if it will go!).

Any suggestions to enable me to overcome this problem welcome - the Creative Labs online help is (as usual with online support) non-responsive to this query. (Why do firms waste money with these so called Support Teams that don't?)

Thanks in Advance

Peter MacGregor
