Your question was prety much answered by Roland...  With the exception
that pam_*sql requirement is not an absolute (I prefer to use auxprop).
Anyhow, you might want to give some thought to where you're storing
your data.  Particularly your passwords.  The passwords should in in
MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc., not in sasldb2.  If you're needing to run
sasldb2 then something is not right with your configuration.  At this
juncture you know you have a problem but no clue as to the
culprit.  Check to make sure you have the requisite php modules
installed.  Turn on verbose logging in MySQL.  What select/insert
statements are being passed when you create a new user?  And other
stuff like that...;-)
