Hi Massimo, I fixed compatibility with IE and reverted to a non mobile first approach. I reverted because bootstrap is not mobile first (so we add too little) and for the sake of compatibility with IE.
Patch is attached to issue http://code.google.com/p/web2py/issues/detail?id=896 which I cannot reopen. Hope this helps!
